I am a thirty something married gay boy living in Sydney, almost on top of the gay scene but not in it!
Why Sometimes blue?, because I love blue, but also I am sometimes blue :)

Last night we went to meet and see KD Lang perform in Concert at the Sydney State Theatre.
KD is one of those performers who you know a couple of her songs and know her style, but I have never paid much attention to her till now.
Sitting in the front row you get such an amazing intimate experience with a singer like KD, who is a true singer and sings without the need for much backing apart from a tiny ensemble
Her voice is just stunning, and the control and tone she has is pure heaven.
For me the highlight of the show was her rendition of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah which was just magical and so inspiring. I love the song and her interpretation of this was pure bliss.
Afterwards during the meet and greet it was fascinating meet some of the other people there to greet her, like the famed Australian Director George Miller his wife and children, Deborah Lee and others whose faces I recognised but would have no idea who they are apart from them being in the 'business'.
I always feel at a bit of a loss at these meet and greats, after all we are not in 'the business' and it's funny when people introduce themselves to you and look at you wondering who you are and if they should know you.
It's a really intimate entree to a world where very few people get allowed in to, sure people get meet and greats to people but we have always been blessed with a very special intro by the people we know.
I was tempted to tell Deborah Lee that I went to school with her hubby Hugh, and had a huge crush on him when I was younger but thought better of it really!
On a topical note though being left in a room to introduce yourself to KD I said hi and introduced Lee as my partner, and KD introduced us to Jamie her partner.
I noticed that we both used the word's partner to describe the other half. It's topical because of the Daily Telegraph's beat up of a plan by the NSW Education department to introduce the words 'partner' into the common language used to describe the spouse or well 'partner' for a want of a better word for relationships.
Last night one of my very fabulous LA friends took me to the Priscilla Musical at Star City Casino.
Having loved the original movie since I saw it and having a deep connection with the film, after all it being filmed in my own city, starting at a venue I go out to and one of the costume designers being my cousins best friend growing up.
So I was really excited to go and see the show and I had no real idea what to expect, so you can imagine my total shock when this was the slickest and best stage show I have seen in a long time. Imagine a professional perfect drag show where everyone sings.
I am not going to do a full review because my reviewing skills are not all that good, but suffice to say the cast got a standing ovation at the end. The musical itself kept pretty close to the original movie, using a lot of fabulous lines like "Cock in a frock on a rock" and but also expanded along a few parts as well.
My two favorite parts of the show were the Bernice and Bob falling asleep out side and Tick singing MacArthur Park - I left my cake out in the rain. The green cupcakes dancing and the whole number was hilarious, I was truly on the floor at just how fanasticly corny it was!
My second favorite was the Shelly Winter's classic from the Poseidon adventure, I just love these two songs.
The entire show was live and they got around the need for "canned music" lip syncing by having three of the most amazing female singers perform, generally suspended from the ceiling. These three women had amazing powerful voices which carried off everything from I love the nightlife to the Opera scene on the top of the bus.
I am hoping that the show will tour the world and I reckon based on a rumor that America may indeed be it's next port of call after it closes next week.
My only complaint was that instead of Abba being the "No more Fucking Abba" it was Kylie Minogue instead which I did think was probably due to copyright laws.
I did laugh so much that I thought I was going to be sick my stomach hurt so much!
After weeks of discussions regarding Pint Sized singer Anthony Callea's sexuality, he has finally admitted he is gay.
In an interview yesterday he talks about his sexuality and his difficulty in growing up gay and Italian in Australia. I was really interested to read that he talks about going to a psychologist to address his depression stemming from dealing with his sexuality.
He also says that he is disappointed that he denied he was gay a few years ago in interviews, but was pushed into it by his 'minders' to give him a better chance of winning the Australian Idol competition.
As I said in my previous post I would wait to see whether he uses this as a way to help other guys and girls coming out and addressing their sexuality.
Congratulations to Anthony for coming out and I hope that he now puts his name to something great that will help the community and teens!
It has been reported that Anthony Callea finalist of Australian Idol 2004 has been accidentally outed by a TV Traffic reporter (source).
Whilst this comes as no surprise to any gay guy who has seen him or met him or snogged him in the last few years at Stonewall Hotel in Sydney's Oxford Street. This news has devastated the legion of young girls who kissed his picture nightly on their bedroom walls.
As Rodney Croome points out it will be very interesting to see whether he acknowledges his sexuality (he has denied he is gay in the past, and has danced around the issue).
I am not a huge fan of his voice or his music, but he will certainly gain my respect if he stands up and publicly acknowledges his sexuality.
Anthony has an opportunity to tell people that it's OK to be gay and not hide or deny any longer!
I have been salivating over this phone and it's features ever since I first saw it online.
But when I actually handles one yesterday my desire waned considerably! It's is simply too big to be a useful phone for me, especially since my current phone the Motorola Razr is so small (even if it is a piece of crap).
Oh well I will just have to wait and see. I might get another inspiration soon!
