So Finally Anthony Callea has been outed
It has been reported that Anthony Callea finalist of Australian Idol 2004 has been accidentally outed by a TV Traffic reporter (source).
Whilst this comes as no surprise to any gay guy who has seen him or met him or snogged him in the last few years at Stonewall Hotel in Sydney's Oxford Street. This news has devastated the legion of young girls who kissed his picture nightly on their bedroom walls. As Rodney Croome points out it will be very interesting to see whether he acknowledges his sexuality (he has denied he is gay in the past, and has danced around the issue).
I am not a huge fan of his voice or his music, but he will certainly gain my respect if he stands up and publicly acknowledges his sexuality.
Anthony has an opportunity to tell people that it's OK to be gay and not hide or deny any longer!

now all we need to do it out Ian Thrope!
Hmmmm - maybe true. I have bene told by someone I trust that Ian is gay, but until I actually see it or meet him and know or read about it in a reputable publication I will reserve judgement.
Now I would prefer if someone like Mark Gosling, or Channing Tatum, sorry I am drooling again heheheheh
Buzzz...
Wrong answer, he should have been out from the start. Plus what kind of trashy character is he if he sleazes around stonewall for young boys.
***swoon***
You have just made my day!! While at Stonewall last Friday I kept an eye our for Mr D.U.P, sorry Mr Callea, but unfortunately i didnt see him. However this article has raised my hopes for me marrying Anthony!
Now all I have to do is get rid of the boyfriend!!
To me I think it is wrong, There are people who put thier life out there for every one to view and judge, But sexuality should not be food for the ignorant.
Unless he has already come out to his friends and family, the only thing this has achieved, incidental or not. He has had the most empowering thing a gay man / woman can do (Tell those people that he is gay and okay with it.) taken away from him. Not that he should anounce at a party to every he is close with, But the small act of telling people you are gay and happy is a very important thing for people.
So all the luck to him.
Jonny
I knew it! I knew it! My gaydar isn't that bad after all. Shame he wasn't at Stonies while we were there. :P
