It may seem rather obvious to a gay guy to start with your penis, but it's amazing just how little we sometimes truly know about our own bodies. One of the most common misconceptions about our penis is the average size of the male member.
Penises come in all different shapes, sizes colour and looks, whether it is uncut with a drooping foreskin or cut tightly with a very hard upward swing. But whatever the size or shape they all serve the same purpose - or do we serve them?
If you read pornography you would think that all men have an eight or nine inch cock, but the truth is substantially different from fiction. There have been many studies done in different parts of the world to try and come up with a definitive measurement. The surveys and studies suggest that the average penis is somewhere between 5 and a half to 6 and a quarter inches in length when erect.
The average erect penis is between 5 1/2 inches to 6 1/4 inches
There are so many so called definitive guides and studies of penis size on the Internet what should we believe and what should we discount as pure fantasy or improper survey methodologies? Well there are three important studies that have been done, and the results of these are shown below after an introduction tot he anatomy of your penis.
The most significant different between penises is whether the guy has been circumcised or not. In most North American countries the male is circumcised at birth, whereas in most European and Latin American countries the male is left intact.
There is a significant difference between a cut and uncut cock. Because much of the sensitive nerve endings are contained under the foreskin and the head of the cock is not constantly being rubbed by clothes, the uncut penis is far more sensitive. This means that if you are playing with an uncut cock you need to be a little more gentle.
You can see from the above pictures that an uncircumcised penis when erect stretches the inside of the foreskin all the way down the shaft which allows access to the incredibly sensitive nerve endings hidden when flaccid. Not all uncut penises will retract their foreskin entirely and many of them will still have their head partially or fully hidden.
The uncut guy doesn't have all the pluses though, he has to take more care in keeping the head of his penis clean to prevent the buildup of dried semen and skin (smegma - also known as cock cheese). A cut guy can almost always be counted on to have a cleaner cock because it does not accumulate oils and secretions all during the he day or night so going down on a cut guy is usually a bit more of a "known" experience.
This just means that an uncut guy needs to make sure that he is always clean and takes care of himself!
We may have played with our penis since we were children, we may have even played with other guys as well. But do you know what the parts of your penis actually are and what is the difference between an uncut and cut penis. The following images have been take from CIRP and are reprinted below under the Freedom of Speech mantra.
The famous sexologist Alfred Kinsey is credited with not just the figure of ten percent of the population being gay but also with the average penis size being 6 inches in length. The study was undertaken by measuring the penises of several thousand young college students (what a job!) and the results are below. Each guy was given a postcard to hold against his erect penis. He then marked how long it was, and ent the postcard with the results in the mail back to Kinsey for tabulation.

The second important study was done by the condom manufacturer Durex in the 1990's as a marketing and research exercise to ensure that their condoms were fitting correctly. The based survey gathered data from 2,936 men from 27 different countries across all five continents. The bulk of respondents (39%) were in the United States, whilst 9% lived in the UK, 7% in Canada and 4% in the Netherlands.

In 2001 Lifestyle condom makers undertook a study in Cancun Mexico of 100 college aged men to determine the average penis length. Each guy was sent to a tent with appropriate material to get him sexually aroused. Then a doctor and four nurses each took the measurement to get a realistic and as close to correct as possible number.
The results were quite surprising with the average penis being 5.7 inches with 75% of guys measuring between 4.5 to 5.5 inches in length! Lifestyle have now bought out a new small sized condom for the 17% of men that are below 4.5 inches, and also for the "younger market".
As can be seen from these three surveys the findings are quite different and ranges of up to an inch in average length can be found. In the end the size of your penis is not nearly as important as how well you use it!
Do the surveys on penis size actually really reflect the average person? Well the short answer is probably not. In most surveys the survey respondent is asked to measure their own penis, and let's face it we are all very keen to add a little bit of length when we take our measurements. This is probably the biggest fatal flaw in all of these surveys. The other is the difference between men of different races and age groups.
When we are younger we are able to have far harder and more erect penises, while as we grow older the rigidity of our penis will subside slightly so there is some shrinkage.
The third and most important problem with penis size measurements is how do we actually measure our penis length and size.
There is an agreed upon method for measuring both the length and the girth of our penis which has been used in clinical studies. The following explains what this is and how to do it.
To determine length, measure the erect penis from the base of the penis where the top of the shaft meets the pubic area (the peno-pubic junction) to the tip of the head. For uncircumcised men the foreskin should be retracted.
To determine width, measure at mid-shaft around the circumference while the penis is erect. This will provide you with an accurate measurement of your penis length and width so you can compare yourself to our statistics.
In 2001 a study announced that Gay men have on average larger penises than their straight male counterparts. This announcement was heralded by the more salabrious gay press as vindiction of the gay male as more masculine. But let's face it, this study had major flaws, and requested the respondants to measure their own pensies.
Would you trust a gay man to give an accurate measurement. After all these are the same people which claim that their 5" uncut cock is ctaully 8"cut when they are online. The fact remains that less than 1.7% of men actually have a penis larger than 8 inches. So you make up your own mind!
The realistic answer to this question is already known to you, but lets loko at the facts. there is no true non surgical way of safely increasing either the width or the length of your penis. The creams, pumps, weights etc, may have a short term effect and can also be incredibly dangerous to the health and wellbeing of your penis.
The surgical method for increasing your penis size is usully done in two ways. The first is to cut the piece of skin between the base of your penis and your pelvis. This usually increases the length by about half to a full inch.
To increase the girth fat from another part of your body is injected into your penis. However there are major risks with this procedure as the fat doesn't always distribute evenly and lumps can form making the penis uneven and lumpy. Also there is always the chance of the fat being rejected by your penis and causing infection.
Accept what you have and make use of it well!
Does your penis stay almost the same length and girth when flaccid and erect? Then you are a shower. But if your penis is significantly smaller when flaccid then you are a grower.
This small piece of detail shows that you cannot always tell about the size of an erect penis from the size of it when flaccid. Some guys have small nubs of a penis when they are flaccid, but when they get aroused the whole thing increases substantially in size.
Doesn't this have to be the question on every gay man's lips? After all if we are always incraesing the size of our penis when we talk about it does this really and truly mean that bigger is better? Well the answer is not always especially if you are the receptive partner in anal sex. Some guys strive to be able to take bigger and bigger cocks up their asrese the problem with this is of course that they become desnsitised to the average sized guy. So they may end up in fact getting less pleasure unless they have a well hung boyfriend!
A huge cock may look appealing and may be quite a novelty at first, but once reality sets in, there is not a lot that you can really do with a monster cock. It's too big to suck properly, and the average guy can't take it in the arse, so the guy with the monster cock is more often than not at a disadvantage and is treated a bit like a circus freak.
