I think we are getting ridiculous
In Australia the definition of binge drinking has now been changed to be:
more than four standard drinks a day is binge drinking.
What the hell?
We like to share a bottle of wine most nights with dinner and that's about 3.5 standard glasses each, and maybe before that a Vodka Lime & Soda (Diet tonic) for the boy. That's probably about 1.5 standard drinks in real terms.
So according to the new standards being suggested by the Government we are both 'binge' drinkers.
That also means my parents are binge drinkers, the boy's parents and virtually everyone I know.
This government is starting to become a bunch of wowsers, the reaction to Henson and now the mothering on alcohol. What's next? Walking is dangerous?
Or how bout thinking about naughty things is wrong!

I'd say it's only binge drinking if you do it everyday.
I thought binge drinking was all about going on benders and drinking too much. Drinking a constant, but relatively large, amount of alcohol each day isn't binge drinking: it's just borderline alcoholism. :P
I drink at least a couple of glasses of wine every day and I dont think of myself as either binge drinking or being an alcoholic....
it's interesting though the focus on this and the re interpretation of what constitutes a problem and what doesnt
I doubt 2 glasses a day really makes you an alcoholic in anyone's book, unless you can't manage to go without them.
What's your favourite type of wine? I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict you like dry reds. I always feel like such a non-connoisseur of wine when I always drink sweet whites.
Trust me I have mroe than two glasses.....
no I like whites , but if it's a red then a very heavy shiraz the heavier the better!
oh lord, that makes me an alcoholic too. so should i quit or tell the world to fuck off and mind their own business instead of telling me what's right? i say the latter!
